Sanderson Farms said Monday that it signed an agreement to continue processing chickens grown by House of Raeford Farms at the company’s poultry processing facility in St. Pauls, North Carolina.
House of Raeford Farms operates poultry grow-out operations and processing facilities in four southeastern states. Its Teachey, North Carolina facility has been severely damaged by a fire in late February. Under the terms of the deal, the company will purchase, process and sell chickens grown by the House of Raeford Farms through mid-December 2017. Shares were 0.8% higher in midday trade.
